Love That Leads: Faith That Risks

Ruth 3 moves the story from quiet providence into courageous faith. Naomi recognizes that the moment for redemption has arrived and encourages Ruth to approach Boaz as a potential kinsman-redeemer. What follows is one of the most vulnerable and suspenseful moments in the book.
Ruth steps into a risky situation, trusting both Naomi’s wisdom and God’s promises. Her request for Boaz to “spread his wings” over her recalls the blessing Boaz spoke earlier, asking that God would shelter her under His wings. Ruth’s faith boldly invites Boaz to become the answer to that prayer.
Boaz responds with integrity, kindness, and restraint, promising to pursue redemption the very next day. Yet the outcome is still uncertain. Naomi instructs Ruth to wait, trusting that the redeemer will settle the matter.
This chapter shows us that the life of faith often follows a pattern: recognizing the moment God has prepared, stepping forward with courage, and then surrendering the outcome to God’s timing.
