Love That Leads: Love That Serves
March 8, 2026
Ruth 2 shows us what God’s providence looks like in ordinary life. Ruth is a widowed outsider with no platform, no security, and no guarantees. Yet instead of waiting passively, she steps into the field and serves with humility, diligence, and courage. What looks like an ordinary workday becomes part of God’s redemptive plan.
As Ruth gleans in the field, the narrator quietly lets us see what Ruth cannot: God is arranging the details. The timing is right. The place is right. The person is right. Boaz enters the story not just as a generous landowner, but as a godly man whose integrity, kindness, and protection reflect the heart of God.
This chapter teaches that Christlike leadership often happens in hidden places. It is formed through obedience, humility, and service long before it is ever seen as influence. Ruth serves. God orchestrates. And through that ordinary faithfulness, God begins writing a much bigger story than Ruth could have imagined.
