Asking For A Friend: Is Jesus The Only Way To God?

John 12:20–33 confronts one of the most important questions a person can ask: Is Jesus truly the only way to God? When a group of Greeks—outsiders to the Jewish faith—come seeking Jesus, it signals that the world is searching. But instead of offering immediate access or simple answers, Jesus points to something deeper: His death.
Jesus explains that like a seed must die to produce life, His death is not optional—it is necessary. This reveals the true problem beneath humanity’s searching: sin. If sin is real and separates us from God, then it must be dealt with. And according to Jesus, there is only one way for that to happen.
The cross is not one option among many; it is the solution to the problem of sin. And the result is undeniable. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, everything changes—lives are transformed, worship is redirected, and a movement begins that continues to this day.
This passage ultimately leads us to a defining contrast: every other system says do, but Jesus says done. The question is no longer whether we are sincere or spiritual, but whether we will trust what Christ has accomplished.
