Palm Sunday: Right Here, Right Now
March 29, 2026
Palm Sunday is one of the most exciting moments in the life of Jesus and one of the most confusing. Crowds line the streets, waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna,” which means “Save us now.” There is energy, celebration, and anticipation. Everyone believes Jesus is about to change everything. And they are right, but not in the way they expected.
The people were looking for a Savior who would bring immediate freedom, political, cultural, and personal. But Jesus had something deeper in mind. He did not come to overthrow Rome. He came to defeat sin. He did not ride in on a war horse. He came in humility, on a donkey. By the end of the week, the same crowd that shouted “Hosanna” would choose Barabbas, a violent revolutionary, over Jesus.
This moment reveals something about all of us. We often want a Savior who fixes our circumstances and solves our problems. But Jesus comes to transform our hearts. The question is whether we will trust Him as the Savior we need, even when He does not meet our expectations.
