It's All Greek To Me: Alive in Christ

Ephesians shows us that the Christian life begins not with what we do but with what God has already done. Paul proclaims that we are chosen before creation, redeemed by Christ, and sealed with the Spirit. Though we were once spiritually dead, God has made us alive with Christ by grace through faith. This new position changes everything: we are united as one body, reconciled to God and to one another. Our practice flows from this position—putting off the old life, putting on the new, and allowing God’s Spirit to transform our relationships. Finally, Paul reminds us that we live in a spiritual battle. We must put on the armor of God, stand firm in His strength, and pray continually. In Christ, we are not spiritually bankrupt but immeasurably rich, equipped to live faithfully in every area of life.
